Male, an old traditional Chinese physician at the farm clinic. He was sent down to the farm for reform a few years ago and was rehabilitated in 1976, but chose to stay at the farm rather than return to his hometown, severing ties with his children. He is skilled at pulse-taking and diagnosis, and treats both Jiang Nan and Mother Zhao.
