The main antagonist. He kidnapped and sold Chen Ningya years ago, falsely claiming to be her father and marrying her off for two strings of coins in a Chongxi marriage. When Chen Ningya regained her memory and confronted him at Deng Village, he and his son Deng Yong tried to murder her to silence her forever. He was arrested by constables sent by Shen Bian and brought to court where he denied knowing Chen Ningya. He was terrified when confronted with the truth.
