A boat prostitute and runaway from a brothel who is traveling south because she cannot afford passage. She pretends to be mute around the sailors though she can speak. She is skinny and treated poorly by the men on board. After Shen Que gives her two taels of silver and shares his pear with her, she develops a quiet bond with him. She sleeps at his feet at night to keep watch, and once attempted to repay his kindness physically, but Shen Que gently rejected her advance, clarifying he helped her not for lust.
