A handsome and refined scholarly gentleman with fair complexion. He met Ming Shu when he overheard Dong Xiu gossiping about her and testified on her behalf. He wrote a poetry collection for Ming Shu with blank cover containing poems expressing his tender feelings, adorned with crabapple blossoms. He visited the academy where Ming Shu used to study.
