Chu Fuyun
Chu Fuyun is the wife of Shen Wei's half-brother Shen Xifeng. She is described as appearing delicate but being very persistent and determined when it comes to matters she cares about. She and Shen Xifeng were betrothed since childhood. When Shen Xifeng attempted to break off the engagement, fearing marriage would prevent him from caring for his younger sister, Chu Fuyun firmly refused, declaring that he is her husband and she is never afraid of waiting, only fearing a life without him. After a few years of marriage, they have a six-year-old son, and their deep affection for each other is enviable. She wears a willow yellow robe embroidered with cranes holding branches and a white and gold skirt. She carries jade pendants at her waist and displays proper manners cultivated from a young age through poetry, books, and etiquette. Shen Wei particularly likes her among all the characters in the book.
