The grandfather of Cheng Beitang who saved Su's grandfather during the revolution by carrying him out of a pile of corpses. He made the marriage pact with Su's grandfather in the trenches, agreeing that if their children were of opposite sexes they would marry, otherwise the agreement would pass to their grandchildren. He insisted on arranging this marriage on his deathbed, claiming the Su family's daughter was a lucky star.
