Also referred to as Grand Tutor Chen or Chen Lietu. He is Chen Danzhu's father and the Grand Tutor of Wu. He treasures his daughter as a jewel. He is devoted to Prince Wu and the decree of the High Ancestor that enfeoffed the princes. He had sworn to defend Wu and Prince Wu to the death. He bound Chen Danzhu's sister for stealing the tally and nearly executed her, showing his duty over personal feelings.
