Antagonist, wife of Deputy Battalion Commander Fang. Described as the unanimously selected public nuisance of the compound. She was overweight (estimated 160-170 pounds), had greasy hair twisted into strands, wore shiny black clothes and black cloth shoes without socks. Her feet emitted a pungent sour smell. She was lazy, shameless, and prone to causing scenes. She arrived at the commander's house demanding to freeload, attacked Rong Mei with long dirty nails, and was ultimately defeated in a physical confrontation. She cried about being a rural woman and an army wife while being beaten.
