Cha Zhijie is Cai Xiaoyun's husband and a member of the Cha family in Chajia Village. He is initially amused by Jiang Tiantian's naive question about why the lamb's father isn't present during birth, explaining that sheep mate randomly during breeding season and paternity is unknown. He is practical and somewhat skeptical about saving the stuck third lamb, telling Jiang Tiantian not to waste her energy since the lamb was stuck inside for so long and was too frail. He eventually leaves the pen unable to watch her desperate CPR efforts. He is portrayed as a straightforward, practical villager.
