The true identity of the fake Ning Chengying. Found as a naked frozen baby eighteen years ago under a maple tree outside the temple during the frost season. Adopted by the childless Cen family and named by the temple abbot. Treated well until age eight when the Cen family had their own child, after which his treatment deteriorated. Became a temple handyman at eight, cleaning and wiping statues daily. Was beaten until lame by the Cen family at age fourteen after they blamed him for their youngest child's illness.
