Bai Wei's mother. A pale, silent woman who hardly spoke except when arguing with his father. Had short hair and wore men's clothes. Was a student at the naval academy where she posed beneath an ivy-covered wall. Her father called her 'son' and said she was his pride. She felt she couldn't argue with him or go back, and was not the captain of her own life. Died of illness, and Bai Wei stayed with her body for over a week.
