Absolutely love this book! I loved watching the MCs personality change from a young teen stuck with romantic issues taking on challenges he wasn’t prepared for to a grown adult capable of putting the greater planetary-scale interests before his own personal affairs.
The early chapters may be a bit hard to read but if you put yourself in the MCs shoes during your hormonal years, I’m sure you will be able to relate to his issues. The overall plot is much more serious and bigger than the MC and so it’s worthwhile to stick to the book and keep reading. You won’t regret it.
The writing quality has improved by leaps and bounds over the course of the book and the story is not very predictable making you wait to see how things actually turn out. The author is very interactdive in the discord community which makes it a very refreshing reading experience, you should definitely check it out.
Disappointing read for this novel. It appears to be based loosely around another novel that I recall, something about 7 sisters or the like, no matter.
Overall from the 15 free chapters (creators note in chapter 1 said 40 odd free) I found this dull, uninspiring and so typically cliche for this genre. Usual start is a struggling MC, down and out, needing cash fast to save ill relative, is miraculously saved by a female lead who reveals his family as their benefactor years ago. Discovers there are 3 other sisters who he now gets to live with and is to marry one by orders of their mother. From this point it is just a failing travesty. The MC is ineffective and quite righteous, but fails hard to be engaging, I could find nothing to remotely connect with to feel any particular emotion. The sisters are, fro what I have seen, rather manipulative, each not wanting to become a bride and don’t hesitate to throw other girls under the bus to gain his interest.
Again, i cannot recommend this as nothing more than a sad attempt to gather readers giving nothing engaging back. Another criticism I have is the lack of reader tags to help identify various elements to enable readers to make a informed choice AND the premature chapter locks in place. Locking anything, before say 40 chapters, does not allow enough story to be assimilated and given a fair chance to decide whether it is suitable. 16 chapters is barely a footnote in a novel.
Apparently it's the same author as World's Best Martial Artist.
WBMA was my favourite of 2020, I haven't really found a better novel for myself in 2021 either, I enjoyed it much more than the hyped LoTM that I lost interest in after hundreds of chapters. Sadly qidian dropped the translations. But since it had long chapters as well, these ~430 chapters feel like many many more.
So I am very excited to hear that the author delivered another good novel, and with LoTM vibes at that (if what others say is true). If you liked Constellation Door, feel free to check out WBMA.
What I am sad about is that the dirty practices of slicing up chapters have touched this novel. Why, why.... money huh..
As far as I'm concerned, this is the third story that I have read that allows the mc to pick attributes from things and get stronger. One being the "Complete Martial Arts Attributes". The other being "Picking Up Attributes From Today". Basing this story off of these two, while sad to say it is a slight let down. CMAA is funny witty and very cringy. PUAFT isn't as cringy as the first but has a sorta of novel feel to it. This story while starting out on a different note lacks that quality.
On the plus side, its a story about attributes and I always welcome them. Have a good day/night.
