It's an okay novel with the typical female assassin and genius doctor type of main character. Even though it's well-written and hasn't become tiresome or repetitive yet, what ruins this novel for me is the male lead. He embodies everything she wants to escape from; right from the start, she is betrayed by someone who can't accept that they can't have her. The male lead behaves similarly, trying to force her to accept him, forcibly pulling her into his embrace and kissing her despite her constant resistance.
This guy doesn't respect her or her opinions; he will do whatever it takes to have her. I fail to see how this type of behavior is considered romantic. The only reason I keep reading is for the slim hope that this character will improve. Apart from the main character, I haven't found another character to enjoy.
Additionally, the translation quality drops significantly after chapter 17. There's incorrect use of gender, and many words are left in their original Chinese pinyin just because the translators like the sound of them, even when proper translations exist. They also censor words they don't like. There doesn't seem to be a good proofreader, so many paragraphs are filled with incorrect tenses or genders, and translator notes in parentheses as if the readers can't follow the story. This makes reading the story tiresome.
This captivating novel, "A Serendipitous Beginning," captivated my imagination from the onset. The protagonist's quest for a Luck Constitution sets off a thrilling adventure that seamlessly blends elements of mystery and self-discovery. The author's vivid storytelling makes you root for the character as they navigate through unexpected challenges. The plot twists keep me on the edge of my seat, and the exploration of fate versus free will adds depth to the narrative. A must-read for those who crave engaging stories with a touch of magical realism.
Having immersed myself in "The Enigmatic Smiling Wanderer," I found the narrative both captivating and thought-provoking. The protagonist's journey, filled with unexpected twists, resonated deeply, drawing me into a world of self-discovery and resilience. Each chapter was a delightful blend of mystery and emotion, leaving me eager for more. The author's prose was a poetic delight, painting vivid images that lingered long after turning the final page. Overall, it's a compelling read that challenges the reader to reflect on life's wanderings with a smile.
I'm loving this novel, it's a journey and you can't read it without paying attention. I'm seeing a lot of reviews of people saying it became generic just because it focus only on the MC and everything revolves around him, but that's exactly the point.
We're not reading about humanity conquering aliens, that is not it. The entire novel premise is about how f*ck*d humanity is if they don't have the MC.
Many say that it became boring but that's because there's no "I need to hide my powers and abilities to not raise suspicions" the MC is the strongest within his league and he shows it.
Overall, it's a good novel and I recommend it
By caught up you meant re-read the entire thing until you caught up?
There is no paragraphs since 420 and it is harder to read.
