Let me just start by saying: the dialogue in this passage is absolutely relentless and I am here for it. Every character has a distinct voice and the author never lets them blend together. Wen Zhi's lines are sharp, practical, and laced with this exhausted patience that comes from dealing with someone who refuses to be normal. 'Get up.' 'You're overstepping.' 'Drop those thoughts. I teach voice acting.' She doesn't waste words. Even her anger is efficient—'We need to talk!' is the most dramatic thing she says and it's delivered with such flat intensity that it's hilarious. Mo Tingyan is a whole different beast. His dialogue is performative. 'I'm hungry.' 'Whatever my wife has to say, just give the order. No need to talk.' 'If my wife won't feed me, I'll just have to find some meat myself.' The man is constantly dressing up his demands in this faux-submissive language that's obviously manipulation. But then he drops lines like 'I'm not helping a scumbag harm an innocent girl' and suddenly you remember he's also capable of being genuinely sharp. The ex-boyfriend Mo Tingjue is the worst dialogue writer's dream villain. 'I just made a momentary mistake, the kind all men make. Was it necessary to spread it around?' This man has the audacity of a god and the self-awareness of a brick. His voice is immediately recognizable—entitled, defensive, and utterly convinced he's the victim. But my absolute favorite exchange is the spicy food conversation: 'You like spicy food? Actually, spiciness isn't a taste; it's a form of pain.' 'So, you like sweet things—what kind of sensation is that?' 'Eating sweet things helps stimulate the release of dopamine, which makes you happy. Call it a 'pleasure sensation,' how about that?' This is two people who are clearly smart and observant, dancing around something real while pretending to discuss food chemistry. And Wen Zhi's internal response—'How boring!'—is the perfect punctuation mark. The narrative voice itself is also worth praising. It's close third person, mostly anchored to Wen Zhi's perspective, but it slips into Mo Tingyan's head at key moments ('For the first time, Mo Tingyan felt he had miscalculated'). The tone is witty without being precious, and it never takes itself too seriously even during the dramatic beats.
10/10 great story, a part of a bigger one. Once you start reading is hard to stop. Is a must to read the books before this one, you will no regret it. If you love werewolves, vampires, witches, hunters, demons… supernatural creatures… what are you waiting for?? Start reading!!

Well, how can I put it? Our main character, Meng Qi, is an exceptional, well-educated, and intelligent medical cultivator. She devoted her life to healing others for the sheer joy of practicing medicine. However, her altruism was tragically met with the irrationality of others, which led to her untimely demise. With a slight edge in knowing the path to higher cultivation and possessing certain skills, Meng Qi remains largely true to her original self. She no longer forms relationships based on kindness, turning down those who would otherwise pursue her affection with a cool demeanor. She is selective, only offering medical assistance to those she deems worthy, and remains fiercely impartial towards women, unless they have earned her respect. Meng Qi is a commendable protagonist, assertive yet not vengeful; she doesn't go out of her way to retaliate against those who have wronged or hurt her.
don't waste your time. at first it was going good however the plot became terrible every chapter became just seggs and there are no events happening just the first and second fmc fighting it became unbearable. the mc is very dumb he literally got into a novel but he doesn't use his brain to maybe influence future events or know some secrets no he just having seggs everyday even tho the novel he got into wasn't harem. I have read about 150 chapter and there is only 1 big event IN 150 CHAPTERS just 1 and it was about 10 chapters long the rest is so boring. again don't waste ur time
