One of my first novels and good lord its goood! Alongside BTTH it is a trope setting novel.(You know tropes like fiancée broke marriage and sh*t grandpa in ring). In fact most of HSP's novels are novels that set tropes.

I felt like I really needed to create an account and write a review for this novel, haha. I think I’ve started reading over 20 novels in this genre. I haven’t finished all of them, but I’ve often read more than 1000 chapters by checking the raws. I’m pretty much caught up to the latest chapters of this novel. I usually wait 3-4 days before I binge-read 20 chapters at a time.
I have to say that this is literally my favorite web novel in this genre (where an overpowered girl gets reincarnated into a trashy character and so on).
I noticed that a lot of people feel there are many plot holes, such as why the male lead (ML) randomly falls in love at first sight and other things. Well, it’s all explained in the later chapters. THERE IS A REASON!! I’m not sure if the author received backlash for not explaining these points and added them in later, but I believe those details were necessary for the development of the novel. I love how this author keeps you guessing with each new chapter because you’ll never know what’s coming next, lol!

So, the ML (NanGongYu) is actually a clone or an avatar of the real person (JiMingYu), who exists on a higher plane and has lived for tens of thousands of years. He’s incredibly powerful but not the strongest in existence—yet. The author has hinted that he might have been the strongest in a past life with the main character (MC), suggesting the MC definitely has an overpowered past life in his world, though he has no memory of it.
Additionally, NanGongYu has a thousand-year-old ice poison in his body, and there’s only one antidote, which the MC has within her. The reason he falls in love at first sight is that someone placed a soul imprint in him (without his knowledge) to search for the person with the solution to his problem and fall in love with them. Apparently, the antidote will only work if the girl willingly does "it" with him, but doing so would likely cause her death.
Whenever he sends his soul to his avatar, he loses all his memories and starts life anew until he dies (always at the age of 20), at which point his soul returns to his original body. He also never retains the memories of his avatar when his soul returns, meaning he forgets the MC. /cry But don’t worry, they eventually get back together <3, after going through a lot of misunderstandings, of course.
I feel like the story might be nearing its end (maybe 500-1000 more chapters?) because they’re getting close to discovering their true identities, and I can’t think of anything else the author could write about. But hey, I’m not very creative, so maybe she’ll come up with more challenges to include.

I genuinely tried my best to empathize with the main character, but unfortunately, I couldn't connect with her. I read up until chapter 171, but her unwaveringly virtuous "pure white lotus heart" became unbearable to me. Despite her tumultuous past, she continues to maintain an innocent disposition, and even towards suspicious individuals, she extends kindness.
Though I understand that no one is perfect, the MC's saint-like nature felt exaggerated by the end of the fourth volume. At that point, I decided to formally label her as a "living saint." Perhaps it's because I have a more cynical outlook on people, but I found it difficult to see the positive aspects in her actions. She seemed to inadvertently hurt her allies while trying to help her enemies.
