Author is a disgusting pedo who gets off to sleeping with 13 year olds. The soccer part is great but it's very much destroyed by the authors raging hard on for an adolescent child .
Im severely dissapointed, ive read many novels in my life and plenty of them were trash but this is on a different level. Others may have bad plots, cliches, or just things i dont like, like harems. This novel however is just bad. 1st of all, the idea behind the smartphone is fine but the need to hide it isnt there when he can say its a game, which it practically is. 2. The side characters are bland and the ant got a better description than most characters. 3. The step siblings are just there to make his life miserable. I could find less bland characters in a p**n video about step siblings than in this novel. 3. MC falls for girl as soon as she asks him to join team and its so obvious theyll prob be together or have a similar relationship, seems forced. 4. Its just straight up boring. The concept with the phone is good which makes it surprising why the novel is so boring. 5. too lazy to write the 4 others.

I'm not usually this obsessed with dialogue but the author here has nailed something special. Each character has a voice so distinct that I could identify who's speaking just from the dialogue alone. Let me start with Meng Suling because her lines are pure gold. 'Our eldest returns just as we've moved—one happy event after another!' That's a mother who is trying so desperately to maintain normalcy, to wrap this devastating news in celebration. And then when she collapses and wakes up, her first words are 'How can my son's perfectly good leg not walk properly anymore?' The repetition, the almost childlike disbelief — that's not dramatic writing, that's how a real mother sounds when her world is cracking. Miao Jianguo is the opposite. His dialogue is sparse, practical, loaded with things unsaid. 'Let's go, we'll talk more inside.' 'I can handle this small matter myself.' 'Girl, it's good that you understand.' He doesn't perform his emotions. He channels them into action. When he tells Director Gao about his son, he doesn't beg — he presents facts. 'He walks with difficulty, but driving is absolutely no problem.' That's a father who has already made his peace and is now fighting for his son's future with quiet ferocity. Miao Lingwei's voice is the most annoying and the most realistic. 'Sons get it so easy, while daughters suffer.' She says this thinking she's being clever, not realizing how selfish it sounds. Her dialogue is full of shortcuts and calculations — 'Can Mom's salary alone support such a big family?' She's always running the numbers, always looking for her angle. And yet, when Miao Yunwei explains the bigger picture, she actually listens. That's growth. The narrative voice itself is worth discussing. It's third-person limited, mostly anchored to Miao Yunwei's perspective, but it has this warm, slightly wry tone that makes you feel like you're being told a family story by someone who loves these people. The author doesn't over-explain emotions — they let the dialogue and small actions carry the weight. One line that stays with me: 'A piece of flesh that fell from your mother's body, how could you be a burden to us?' That's not just dialogue, that's a cultural artifact. It tells you everything about what motherhood means in this world without a single exposition paragraph.
