The only thing the new AIs weren't able to do for humanity was being creative, so the only proffesion that has survived the change in paradigma is the creators known now as "the martirs". They are forced to forgo their entertainment and come up with new ideas that are made into entertainment products by the AI.
He reached for her forehead, finding her body to be ice cold, after all, all she was wearing was a thin robe. It was snowing outside, no matter how powerful her inner energy was, it should have depleted by now.
"I could've prevented everything, just as you said." Sadness and regret lingered in his eyes, "But I was coward… and I still am up to now…"
The boots began to materialise again and I started to float to the ground, my head was spinning and I had no idea what was going on. First off, the boots that were once made for the snow had changed into a really nifty pair of converse and Secondly, I had began to fly without using any magic whatsoever.
I slowly and carefully took the boots out of the box, making sure to put them on the ground softly, treating them as if they were an extremely fragile glass vase. I undid the laces of my shoes (Yes, I'm at the age where I can tie and untie my shoelaces by myself) and took them off, slipping the new boots onto my feet.
"Indeed." Varren replied. He finished roasting a piece, and threw the stick to Ayne, completely catching her off guard.
"Sorry."
We were both silent for like three minutes before he decided to break it.
"Hey, stop talking and drink this."
