Okay so let me just say this upfront: the whole 'liars swallow a thousand needles' thing is either the most satisfying karma mechanism I've ever seen or it's dangerously close to cartoonish, and I can't decide which. But honestly? It works. It works so well. The plot in these chapters is doing SO much. You've got San Qi publicly dismantling Yu Tang—forcing her to confess about the medicine in front of everyone, then literally making her throat bleed when she tries to lie again. And then the fallout ripples everywhere: Baochun Tang sides with San Qi because they're connected to Dingbei Houfu (which is enemies with Boyuan Houfu—of course they are), Shopkeeper Zhou is playing the long game, and now San Qi has an invitation to a noble banquet. The plot is connecting dots I didn't even realize were on the board. And then there's the Chu Yuebai visit. Yu Tang tries to play the victim again, says San Qi stole her prescription, and this time the karma isn't just throat pain—it's a STENCH. A literal foul odor emanating from her soul because she won't repent. Chu Yuebai can't even stay in the same room. I literally laughed out loud. The universe is punishing her and she doesn't even know why. But here's what's keeping me up at night: San Qi's invitation to the Dingbei Houfu plum blossom banquet. Why her? What's the agenda? And Yan Du—why is he suddenly paying her market price for medicine instead of just accepting it as a gift? There's something underneath that transaction, and I need to know what it is. Also, side note: the fact that Yu Tang was THREATENING to step aside for San Qi regarding Chu Yuebai while simultaneously trying to steal her medicine? The audacity is genuinely impressive. 'I'll give up my romantic position AND you should still give me the medicine you stole from me.' The entitlement is off the charts.

In a word; Excellent! The story is basically a detective story set in ancient times but with Qi and supernatural powers. The normal tropes of transmigrator with good luck and using modern thinking to get ahead are there but the MC has no system and starts as a low-level martial artist with no way to easily improve. He need to use his brain, and the novel is better for it. Excellent!

This is meant to be slice of life, yet the MC is essentially a robot. Thank God for his appearance because nothing about his personality actually draws you in. I didn't know being blind meant you had almost zero actual emotions. Even with his family his emotions seems perfunctory. The way he dealt with the Adele scenario only added to his bad qualities. No one appreciates a character who feels they know best and decides to play God by keeping secrets.Talk about a 2 dimensional character, all he has to stand on is that he's good at different things. He's also good at neglecting the people around him, because what he's an adult in kids body or is autistic or something.130 chapters in and you might as well still be reading about the blind boy in the orphanage because there's been zero development on his part.P.S: being an overtly calm and collected kid isn't something any parent would just enjoy, some would be creeped out and most would worried because there child is abnormal. There's literally zero range in his emotions.
