'Xu Zhizhi, how can you be so shameless?' — I literally said that out loud when I read it. Xu Zhiqiang's dialogue is so perfectly written, you can hear the entitlement in every word. He's the type of person who genuinely believes his sister exists to serve him, and he has the audacity to ask 'what did we ever do to you?' The dialogue in this book is sharp because every character sounds exactly like who they are. Xu Lingling's lines are all soft and pitiful — 'Don't blame her, if Zhizhi's in a bad mood just let her sleep in my bed' — but you know she's calculating every word. Wang Fenglan is pure chaos energy, ready to slap anyone who disagrees with her. And then there's Lu Yuchuan, who barely says anything but when he does, it lands. 'Medicine.' Two words and he's already taken charge of the situation. The scene where Xu Zhizhi lists her four conditions to the Xu family is pure dialogue gold. Each point is delivered with this cold, measured precision that's so satisfying after chapters of her being dismissed. 'First of all, I'm not deaf.' I laughed out loud. The author's voice as the narrator is also great — it's witty without being overbearing, and it lets the characters speak for themselves.
