this novel really have potential but the problem is that there is too little updates. l hope the author give it some of his time.
The biggest issue with this webnovel is the obvious product placement for Ancestry.com. Every chapter includes the protagonist saying "I got my DNA tested for only $59 using the promo code SquareApron, and my AncestryDNA® results show that my ancestors lived in Hell, so I Am A Demon Descendant!"
This is getting better by the second :). I’m really enjoying how the plot is developing and I can’t wait to see how it will develop in the future

I couldn’t get past chapter 24. I’ve seen reviews saying this novel doesn’t have cliches, but then within 24 chapter we get 3 arrogant rich boys. It seems like all the females are good towards MC, while most of the males are antagonists. I also can’t get used to how the adults are accepting how weird MC is. For example, I would freak out if I saw a 5 year old child know how to build a swing, kill a giant ass boar, or know how to treat people without ever going to his magic apprenticeship. There are also a lot of places where MC is just voicing his thoughts outloud, which reads awkwardly. Maybe it’s because I came in with an expectation of a 4.8 novel, that I’m nitpicking, but i’m a bit disappointed so far. Please tell me if i’m wrong or if the writing gets better.

Let me just say this: the relationship between Wu Junji and Emperor Zhou is the most complicated thing I have ever read in a novel and I am HERE for it. Emperor Zhou is this terrifying figure—ruthless emperor, sharp tongue, kicks eunuchs, threatens to flay people—but the moment he hears guards surrounding his son, he loses his damn mind. "I'll fuck your ancestors! Who dares?!" He literally throws his jade pendant and storms out like a tiger protecting its cub. And then he beats Wu Junji because he's frustrated and hurt and doesn't know how else to process it. But the slap—when it happens, the narrative makes it clear that Emperor Zhou's hand is TREMBLING. He's the one who's heartbroken, not Wu Junji. He flees the scene. He can't even stay to see the aftermath. And Wu Junji? He's calculating even while being beaten. Even while crying. His internal monologue never stops. He's a two-year-old body with a sixteen-year-old beggar's soul who was nearly starved to death in prison. When Emperor Zhou threatens to make him skip dinner, that's when the fear really hits because hunger = hell for him. The physical abuse is bad enough, but the psychological trigger is starvation. "He and Emperor Zhou were separated by a lifetime. Neither knew the other's pain points, yet in their arguments, they struck each other's vital spots with precision and ruthlessness." This line absolutely destroyed me. They're both trying to hurt each other because they don't know how to connect.
Megan's part didn't make any sense, she told Mark she switched the babies to make him miserable. He was happy for over 20 years because he had Holly as his mate, he didn't care that her daughter wasn't his, even if he knew from the beginning he still would have loved Daphne as his own.
