This book is going to turn me into a chapter stalker. Right of the bat, the drama is blood pressure raising. Nobody in the book is worth a damn lol. I cannot wait to see how toxic Jessica and Keagan get. This is a refreshingly f*cked up twist on a classic genre
Okay let's talk about how these two speak to each other because WOW. Lu Zhiye's dialogue is all short, sharp, clipped. 'Stay away from me.' 'Don't you understand human language?' 'Don't make me say it a second time.' Three words. Four words. He doesn't waste breath. And yet — and this is the genius — his BODY language screams the opposite. The trembling fingertips. The reddened ears. The way he rubs that pull-tab ring on his thumb when he's agitated. The author lets his silence do the talking. Su Nuonuo's voice is completely different. She's direct, almost playful, unapologetically bold. 'I'm Su Nuonuo. From today on, I'm the person who will keep pestering you.' She even brushes imaginary dust off his shoulder like she's got nothing to lose. And later: 'I think… he's flustered.' She's reading him like an open book and she KNOWS it. The exchange in the empty classroom is pure gold: "Stay away from me." "I won't." "Don't you understand human language?" "I do. But I don't want to listen." That's not just dialogue — that's a power struggle wrapped in two sentences. She's not afraid of him. She's not intimidated. She's seen him die for her. She knows his soul. His coldness is a mask and she sees right through it. The side characters also have distinct voices. Su Xiaoyu is all panic and high-pitched worry — 'Nuonuo! Are you crazy?!' — which contrasts perfectly with Su Nuonuo's calm 'So what if I did?' Chen Che appears briefly with strawberry milk and it's such a specific, warm detail that tells us everything about their relationship without a single word of exposition.
This book was simply amazing!! I can't believe it's over, I'm definitely looking forward to the next book from this author. Very well written book. BRAVO AUTHOR!!!

Please keep writing this brilliant book, I really need to know who her baby daddy is, whether A accepts her. Who's the other Alpha? The fact that she's normal, a chunky lady like me. As a Mum of 3 I know having a baby can change your body shape and some people can be nasty to you.
Nice fiction story, something other than werewolves and vampires.
