I like this book so much ,like how the elanor character is and how elegant and bossy she is the way she carries herself is so awesome. I love Noah and elanor. though I ship her with Ryder.

Storyline does not seem original and reminds me of a Korean drama titled “You are my Destiny.” Came out in 2014… and was pretty popular. Same thing happens to the main female character after a one night stand…
I've been thinking about clothes in this novel more than I thought I would, and honestly it's become this whole thing for me. Let's talk about the dress. Lin Jiayi wears a floral dress to the station—pampered, refined, standing out among girls who aren't so dressed up. Yao Qingqing deliberately wears a Lenin suit to appear serious and political, but then changes into a white dress for the arrival, only to have it ruined by tractor smoke. White dress = false purity, performative innocence, the kind of girl who hands out candy while poisoning your reputation behind your back. The smoke doesn't just stain the dress; it reveals what the dress was always hiding. Then there's the whole motif of jobs and inheritance. Lin Jiayi's mother died for the country. Lin Jiayi could have inherited the hospital job. Instead, it gets sold to the logistics director's son—a transaction that mirrors the larger social transaction of the era, where connections and money determine fate more than merit or sacrifice. The 1,200 yuan she gets for 'selling' the job is both a victory and a bitter irony: her mother's sacrifice becomes a commodity, and Lin Jiayi profits from it. Is that corrupt? Or is it survival in a system that already failed her family? The space itself is a symbol I can't stop turning over. A magical farmland that responds to the 'gift given to the female lead'—but what gift? The text doesn't specify, which feels intentional. It's whatever the story needs it to be: hope, agency, the idea that even in the most constrained circumstances, there's a hidden resource if you know where to look. The crops look 'plain' but their functions are 'remarkable.' That's the thesis right there. Don't judge by appearances. The educated youth movement itself was sold as plain and ordinary—a noble duty. But the reality underneath was anything but ordinary. And Lin Dong giving her 3,300 yuan to take to the countryside... that's not just plot armor. It's a symbol of a father's love as economic security, the one thing he can give her in a world where he can't protect her physically. Money as affection. Practical love. That's very Chinese, very specific, and very well done.
It seems more like a jumbled collection of ideas rather than a coherent narrative. Many books start strong, but unfortunately, the author loses focus after a few chapters, resorting to filling pages with unsatisfactory content.
An incredible read if you can tolerate the absolutely horrible release rates...

Ah, so it's just that they didn't get translated, I had even checked MTL for it. The pacing is much better in the other one, this novel kills me with whole chapter dedicated to nonsense like explaining the communication talisman has only existed for a few hundred years.
