omggggg it’s SO good I just loved your work. You go gurl, you are so talented!!!!
Hi, my beautiful readers. We've gotten to the end of this book. This ride was exciting, chaotic and draining, but I'm glad I was able to complete it. I know we'll all miss Lorraine and Dexter's story, but trust me, I've got something coming up soon and I can't wait to share it with you all.
will this book ever be updated?
The dialogue between Lin Kexin and Liu Xuewei is absolutely vicious and I cannot stop thinking about it. Let me just quote this exchange because it's perfect: "There's nothing to reconcile. There was never anything between us in the first place." That's not just a rejection—that's a complete erasure. She's not even giving Liu Xuewei the dignity of having had a relationship worth repairing. And then the sickle swing. "Just stay away from me. Unless you want my sickle to slip and cut your leg." She literally threatens her with a farming tool while pretending it's a casual warning. The subtext is screaming. But what's interesting is how the author gives each character a distinctly different voice. Liu Xuewei's dialogue is all hedging and fake politeness—"Kexin, you and I are the only relatives here. Life away from home isn't easy—why make things so tense between us?" She wraps every manipulation in concern. Meanwhile Lin Kexin's dialogue is blunt, flat, almost bored. "I have no relation to you, so I don't need your help." Short sentences. No embellishment. Even the ox-cart driver has a distinct voice—nagging, warm, slightly superstitious, calling her "girl" in a way that feels genuinely affectionate. And Brother Long's dialogue is all business with these tiny cracks of respect showing through: "Miss Lin, impressive!" The way Yan Dao switches from casual to respectful after his boss's warning—"we thought you weren't coming! Heh..."—that little laugh tells you everything about power dynamics.
