Wow just wow. This book had it all, dragons, pirates, romance, intrigue, action, adventure. So good. Definitely worth reading and desperately hoping for a sequel.

I have never wanted to watch someone slap someone harder in my entire life. Lin Yuming slapping Lin Mengting isn't just a plot moment — it's a RELEASE. But the moment that actually made me emotional wasn't the slap. It was after Lin Mengting leaves and Lin Yuming turns around to find Dabao and Xiaoya quietly watching her. No words. Just two children who have learned that love is conditional and safety is temporary, standing in a courtyard wondering if this version of their mother will last. And then Xiaoya stumbles over and asks the most heartbreaking question: "Mother, you really won't sell me anymore?" I literally gasped. This child has been sold once and the fear is still there, raw and open. Lin Yuming scoops her up and the warmth of that moment — after all the violence and tension — is what makes the emotional arc work. It's not about grand declarations. It's about a mother holding her child and proving, through action, that she's different now. The romantic tension with Yin Chiyan is also doing quiet work. He watches her from the yard while she tends his wound. He says nothing but his eyes say everything. "Perhaps she really had changed somewhat" — and that's the whole romance in one thought.
This novel made me feel so much emotions and xi zhan chen can i just say The sacrifice is really to much.. ark made me shed a lot of tears and now my pillow is soaking wet... and little ye..

The narrative is indeed intriguing, showcasing the character's growth as they traverse different worlds and gain strength. However, there's no romantic subplot, which leaves me a bit disappointed since I prefer stories with a love interest for the main character. I hope she encounters someone who truly deserves her.
Honestly, my feelings about this novel are quite mixed. I admit, my attention span can be quite short, but when a story truly captures me, I'm willing to dive into even lengthy novels, sometimes stretching up to 1000 pages or more. Despite occasional frustration with poor translations, my curiosity often drives me to continue reading, even if it means deciphering the text myself.
However, there's a particular issue I find hard to reconcile. The main character's (ML) sudden affection for the protagonist (MC) seems implausible given their busy schedules and limited interaction. When the ML guesses the MC has HIV/AIDS just by sniffing them, without asking how they contracted it, it feels rushed and unrealistic, especially when considering the severity of the illness. It's unclear if the ML is willing to commit their life to someone with a terminal condition or if this sudden devotion stems from some unexplained motive.
Another point of dissatisfaction is the portrayal of the plot involving the protagonist's identity being exposed. It feels immature and unrealistic that every company would target the transmigrator without solid proof. The lack of fear of consequences, like being accused of theft, seems out of character. Even minor characters like the teacher and the girl supporting the idol are underdeveloped, with their presence seeming unnecessary.
Lastly, the deaths of the secondary villains raise numerous questions. Why didn't the antagonist kill the MC immediately? Their elaborate plan to eliminate others, including the MC's friends, doesn't make sense given their knowledge of the original protagonist's status. Additionally, the antagonist's lack of teaching duties and sudden focus on scientific breakthroughs create plot holes that leave me puzzled.
In summary, while I'm intrigued by the story, these inconsistencies and loose ends prevent me from fully embracing the narrative. I might revisit it later, but as it stands, I have concerns about the pacing, character development, and believability of certain events.
The narrative is indeed excellent, but I find the yandere label somewhat misplaced, as the character does not exhibit typical yandere traits. He might have a slightly toxic side, but that's the extent of it.
The narrative primarily serves as a nostalgic portrayal of life in the 1970s, devoid of elaborate revenge plots or clichéd misunderstandings. It offers a soothing reading experience. Despite the lack of dramatic elements, the protagonists form an endearing couple. Our male lead (ML) is a genius, akin to a golden retriever with extraordinary abilities. He can master anything after just one demonstration and possesses an impressive aptitude for mathematics, even mastering foreign languages effortlessly. His affectionate nature shines through as he fiercely defends his wife, often prioritizing her over himself.
Though originally depicted as a villain in the original source material, his difficult upbringing played a significant role in shaping his character. However, the female lead (FL)'s arrival redirected his path. Although not quite on the same level as the ML, the FL displays her own remarkable qualities. She is a strong-willed and resourceful protagonist, far from a pushover. She refuses to tolerate verbal abuse and stands up for herself with equal force.
The translator behind this story has done an exceptional job with the translation. It's about a person who reincarnates into a world filled with yandere heroines. I've followed this author in other works and they consistently deliver high-quality translations, maintaining a consistent update schedule. So far, in the novel "Stars Reborn," the protagonist is a young boy transported to a realm inhabited by yokai. Surrounded by eccentric women who seem drawn to his unique character, as someone familiar with the game he now inhabits, the plot promises intrigue. Based on the first two chapters, I highly recommend giving it a read.
