oh no ... don't let her die....
nice stories author
The FL is essentially a rag doll at the mercy of literally everyone
This book was a good read about young love, also believable as the story was through the eyes of youth not an 16, 17 or 18 yo trying to be 20 somethings therefore making it more enjoyable ......
I love this story,good job!

This is different. Nice work
theres no endibg!!!!!
Can we just appreciate how well-written Ben's dialogue is? This kid is five years old but he talks like a tiny adult, and it's hilarious. Listen to this exchange: "It's your own fault for being stupid, forgetting that we still need to check the price tomorrow!" He just got praised and immediately deflects with an insult. That is SO a five-year-old who's been around adults too much. And then later when he's teaching Emma: "See, this is easy. Once you learn the sound of each letter, you can read it yourself..." He's being so patient and helpful, completely in his element. The author gives each character a distinct voice and it works. Hugh sounds exhausted and formal—"I'm going to wash up first. You guys keep going." He's not even trying to connect, he's just surviving. Jolene's voice is warm but practical, and she switches between talking to kids and talking to adults seamlessly. The scene where she stands up to Hugh is peak dialogue: "This is something we both agreed on—it's clearly written in the contract. So Ben hasn't done anything wrong. We both entered into this willingly. This is not something you can just criticize!" She's frustrated but also professional, and you can hear her prioritizing the child over the employer. The banter between Ben and Jolene feels natural too—they're building a real rapport. And Ben's tantrum dialogue when Hugh criticizes him? "Waaah—she's the one who said she'd pay me rent! I didn't ask her for money! Waaah..." The repetition and the whining are so authentically five.
