I've read up to Chapter 100 of the MTL version, and there's an instance in Chapter 80 where the main character (MC) drops a jade pendant during a fight, hoping her protagonist friend would find it, achieving a multi-purpose outcome. However, I find her logic confusing.
Firstly, giving it to him as a gift would have been a safer and more straightforward way to accomplish the first goal, and she could have still pursued the other objectives whenever convenient.
Secondly, MC unnecessarily joined a conflict beyond her role, when she could have shared crucial information anonymously or directly without risking herself.
Thirdly, it's baffling why she fought and then tried to escape instead of acknowledging her involvement and benefiting from it.
The MC's behavior is inconsistent. Although she engages in conversations about "protagonists" as if it's common knowledge, suggesting she's not secretive, she constantly tells lies (presumably for comedic effect), which doesn't mesh well with a realistic narrative. What's frustrating is that she keeps vital details hidden from close friends, even if it could simplify their lives without altering the plot.
As I progress, the MC's irrational actions become increasingly annoying. I hope future chapters see her adopting a more realistic mindset, prioritizing safety and convenience.
I'm unable to continue, I truly cannot. The logic just doesn't hold up. This narrative seems to be the work of a teenager, filled with convoluted plot points and implausible events. The characters, orgFL and orgML, are poorly developed and their roles are insignificant. The male lead functions more as a supporting character, while the female lead is an overpowered protagonist so predictable that it becomes monotonous.
She impulsively decides to get a pilot license, but never uses it. Then, she stumbles upon a goldmine and invests in ridiculous drama projects, which surprisingly become popular. Her family undergoes miraculous changes without explanation, her ex-fiance reconsiders his decision after reuniting with his first love – a weak character who barely appears in the story.
The sole reason I finished the book was to see how far fetched it could get. Honestly, it feels like it was written by a 12-year-old's imagination.
If you haven't already, please read this part, as the summary somewhat misrepresents the story by exaggerating the drama – it's actually a genuine romantic comedy. The protagonist, Feng Xuan, is sent to Earth to experience his love trials and return to heaven, where he can resume his carefree life of eating and sleeping. With knowledge from a secret fate book, he tries to bond with Qi Zhuoyu, eventually leading to their heartwarming journey.
The story lacks any bullying or betrayal; the scene of QZY hugging his master from the summary doesn't occur. Feng Xuan is aware from the start that QZY will become the demon king, but it's not about chasing a wife or revenge. QZY's feelings are exclusive to Feng Xuan, and Feng Xuan doesn't even request the heartless bead; his father planted it while Feng was unconscious.
Feng Xuan and Qi Zhuoyu share excellent chemistry. Feng is charming, lazy, and vain, with an amusing train of thought that brings laughter. QZY is a classic "tall, dark, and handsome" character, but he behaves like a child sometimes, wanting to be the strongest in every situation. Their interactions are filled with humor and sweetness, with touching moments when QZY tries desperately to win Feng's affection.
The plot serves mainly as a backdrop for their blossoming relationship, and Feng Xuan doesn't need to mimic the character Xiao Qi from the fate book. The story has some issues, such as the instant connection between the two, who are practically fated to be together. QZY's immense power renders everything effortless, making him seem overbearing and occasionally ruthless, but these elements are played for laughs, with minor characters meeting unfortunate ends. Feng Xuan, though likable, is practically useless outside of plot developments.
In conclusion, while the story has its flaws, it offers a delightful read with a cute couple. It's a simple tale of a picky, vain, yet sweet beauty and her intimidating, yet devoted senior. There's also a charming subplot involving Feng Xuan's parents, with his male mother, another character with an eccentric personality. Overall, if you enjoy a light-hearted romance, this could be an enjoyable read.
As an avid reader, "Eternal Sacred King" left a profound impression on me. The narrative weaved a captivating tapestry of power, destiny, and redemption, drawing me into a world where mythical creatures and epic battles were the norm. The protagonist's journey from humble beginnings to becoming a revered king showcased resilience and growth, making it an inspiring read. The intricate plot twists kept me hooked till the very end. Overall, a thrilling and thought-provoking novel that I couldn't put down.
