Will just slip in here and say that this is currently one of the most popular novels in China at the moment. It is famous mostly for its great lines (We have a lot of classical sayings in Chinese, and this novel tweaks them a bit to create a humorous twist to the story). Hard to tell how those jokes will turn out in English, but if it could be delivered well, I'm sure it will be an enjoyable read.
Some background:
Spiritual energy is gradually returning back to the world, and supernatural ability users are gradually awakening within the populace. Our MC, Lu Shu, comes from an orphanage, and he has a younger sister, which is actually a non-blood related younger child from the same orphanage who is very close to him. As the orphanage isn't really a kind place to them, the two children left the orphanage to survive in the world through their own means. By the time the story starts, life was hard, but they were still getting by with their own strength. Shortly after the story starts, the MC awakens to a system where he can trade the "hostility" of others into points where he could trade for stuff required for cultivation. However, the hostility must be directed toward him, thus beginning the days where our MC finds all ways to piss off others to win their hostility.
good premise actually. if not for stupidly unnecessary misunderstanding. 140 chaps and they still don't know the truth. and hey. premium pass from chapter 10. so yeah. if ur rich and stupid. this is for you
*Slightly more detailed review compared to others (as of V10)"
My second favorite IET novel, right behind Swallowed Star. IET took his experience from his previous novels, polished everything up and then transformed it into this beast.
Why is it so good? The writing quality of IET, world building, action, details and especially the characters. His writing style is just so good. As readers, we see and feel, usually, while immersing ourselves, but I just feel that with LXY, it's more powerful. I can only explain it like this: Novels are like machines with cogs. If the cogs don't all work together properly, even if the machine "works", it just doesn't feel right. LXY doesn't have that problem.
Unlike typical MCs of this genre, Xue Ying is a spear user... And IET does it VERY well, surprisingly. He has a mom for once. A nice family that's caring and he cares for. He isn't a bloodthirsty maniac (not saying I dislike those MCs), but he's more caring and "relatable?", but he's also no pushover. He's still the typical IET super hardworking genius never before seen since the dawn of time, but I quite like his personality a bit more compared to other MCs.
There isn't a harem. Like usual, it's an OTP... But it just takes a while. They're on the path to immortality, so even though things can be slightly lovey dovey, there isn't a rush. They both have their own paths. The other characters are cool as well. Most of them aren't 1-dimensional and actually have personalities and traits... Which is one of the best things about IET.
Descriptions and world building is good. Things don't normally drag on for too long or too short; just the right amount. Not much else to say.
Story is fun as well. It can be very exciting, yet also very tense where you start "feeling" everything so much. Like the struggle and emotions, you feel them. IETs novels all follow the same progression type system, but as I said before, he takes the experience from his previous novels and applies them here. If you've read CD/ST/DE, you'll definitely notice similarities with regards to abilities... But it's still done right and made interesting, trust me. Xue Yings style is awesome.
Anyway, that's about it. If you want something that can sway your emotions, make you feel very immersed and which is also at the top of the Chinese Novel food chain, definitely check this out. One of the best Xianxia/Xuanhuan you will ever read, I promise!
Trash novel with trash translator,it getting worse and they are not even trying anymore just copy and paste from mtl
overall I really enjoy the story the characters keep you entertained and on your toes the only problem is they can't keep the gender straight in the storyline they keep swapping everybody's gender around and it's quite annoying

Good story to read. I red all available chapters on one sitting. There are some spelling and grammar error at first but at later chapters it became almost nonexistent. Keep up the good work. Hope you write more chapters. :)

please everybody that read this book rate comment like and share
Hello dear readers,
I wanted to write a comment after 3 years to update y'all on things that have happened and why I decided to stop progressing with this novel.
When I started this novel I was going into high school and wanted to do this as a side project to hopefully earn money (which didn't work out). By the time I got to around 30 chapters in I was losing interest in being an author because I had found a group of friends and most of my time was spent playing games and going through school. While I have graduated high school; I don't believe that I will have the free time with the upcoming semester of college. Maybe one day I will pick it back up and be able to write a grand story for you dear readers, but I'll be going through rigorous classes at college while I pursue a Bachelors in Computer Science and won't have time since I'll be preoccupied with studying and the gym.
I'm sorry to have let y'all down and hopefully can understand my situation. I appreciate the kind comments on some chapters that I've received over the years and I hope that y'all go on to do some amazing things. Just remember to keep your head up and follow your heart.
With love, "Devouring Immortal's" Author.
