Honestly one of the best things that i have read in a while. The pacing it slow but it all makes sense. The characters are likeable for the most part. Some answers are missing but I think that is on purpose. Keep up the good work I am looking forward to reading more ^_^
Hey Webnovelist!
Good day for writing! If you want to see whether you can get paid by distributing the current work or getting financial support by writing new works, you might want to email [email protected]. We are mainly looking for adventure novels (Fantasy, Sci-fi, Paranormal Urban, Action, Thriller/Suspense, Game). A brief introduction, along with a few samples or links, will be appreciated when reaching out. You might be our next top writer!
Dang i thought it was going to be a fun little novel. But its not the translation and editing is pretty bad. The MC is just plain like all the other current Western style novels
*Evaluation written at chapter 105*
This is a real hidden gem !
I usually like my reviews to be long and detailed, so for those of you who want to read my wandering thoughts, just read this : if you are tired of omniscient killing machines MCs with a dumbass system, this western view on eastern cultivation fantasy is very worth trying !
don't
Once in a while, just when you look through all the trashy generic novels being picked up on this site everyday and decide it is a waste of time to search for a new readable novel, you stumble on something that makes you think "well, maybe there is still hope around here after all..."
This novel is one of those times.
First of all, at least for me, NO FARKING SYSTEM ! The characters are talented, yes, but that's it. After that, they can only grow stronger with continuous hard work. No robotic voice in your head gifting you with a divine cultivation technique, a godly fist art or a heaven-grade flaming sword every two days. Just hard work. Basic, maybe too blunt for some, but precisely what I am looking for.
The writing quality is the second big plus for me. I remember Chalky say it's his first novel, and God I wish I could write like that. The pacing is perfect, quite slow but I think it is the only way to truly bring life to the characters. They are very well written, each with their own distinct personality.
The MC is not a mass psychopathic slaughterer, as so many others. In fact he could even be considered a good guy, just that he grew up getting used to obeying orders. Whatever they may be... but I have a feeling that may change in the future. He does not win every fight, and he doesn't always make the best decisions. Some comments say he is weak and stupid. I say he is human. And still a rather strong one. His main abilities and the techniques he acquires are are quite interesting, very unusual for the genre but quite well thought through.
The story so far is interesting, and the world quite solid. However, as of now (chapter 105), the MC is just strong enough to start to have a real view on the continent and knows very little of what lies beyond. No arrogant young master needing a faceslap so far either as all characters, friends and foes, are rather well built and coherent.
So is it perfect ? Obviously no, nothing is. But for now it is a damn good novel, and a refreshing version of eastern cultivation I, for one, very much needed.
So thank you Chalky, and keep up the good work !
Story is so great! Can't wait for more chapters.

Overall its pretty good, however, I'm so confused as to how it goes from being about using runes to using beasts. Had it gone from using just runes to using both runes and beasts it would have made more sense.
So I ended up here because I am a new reader of "sorceress 101". It said to check this book out too! After I read the synopsis I can't wait to read this book. Please keep up the good work Author-san!!!! I am looking forward to what will be written next!

I am deeply happy that the author joined spirity. As it has the potential to win! With more exposure, this will become great and even reach a million views! Or anime adaptation even a movie! Kudos on your work and See you in December (if you know what I mean)
The premise of poverty really validates how Jose and Antonio could let themselves in the pitfall of gambling.
You've done a great job in portraying the poorest of the poor of the slums of the Philippines. I hope Allaine won't pursue the rabbit hole that his dad got tangled in. I want to see him strive with honesty and dignity. Just one thing, hospital bills could be paid off by an organization. They simply need to be patient and process the endless amount of paperworks.
On the other hand, Antonio and Jose is as equally infuriating as Yanlei. Though Jose was better than Antonio, warning his friend of the possible repercussions. They agreed to Yanlei's terms and did not oppose it. They ought to have stopped while the pit was still shallow. I hope they think about the fate of their families in the event that they sink in a gorge of debt while the status of being poor screams at their conscience.
In terms of the technicality in writing, there are some grammar mistakes that I could point out. Don't worry, those are easily proof read. As I always say, enabling yourself to master grammar will able you to produce sentences that will flow smoothly. We all make mistakes, so this is merely a constructive criticism and I hope you take it that way.
For my suggestion, I think that you should have an auxiliary chapter for explaining some gambling rules. There are readers who already know it, and there are also those who don't. Hence, for a chapter that focuses on the intense gambling sessions, explaining the rules cut's off the *******.
You have a great work here and I'm vouching for the story that you've created! The thrill of gambling is well narrated in every chapter. I'm cheering you on!
