Read the synopsis and I am already hooked. Really in love with this story. Wow the relationship oil and water is amazing. The trill, mystery you have wrote in this book is so good that it captured all my attention to it. Wow, what a love-hate relationship...Pure fun reading this book. Great work dear author.
when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming? when is next chapter coming?
Reading the first 39 chapters.
The main character transmigrates into another world with martial artist techniques. Not cultivators, but more like pugilists.
He gets a system that's from the game he used to play before he transmigrated and is capable of making automatons to fight for him. So far there has only been the MC taking over gang territory to plunder resources in order to expand his automaton army.
There are no side characters with much presence so far and it seems like the MC will be going solo, without in-depth interactions for thetime being. The only side characters are his underlings and they don't get much character depth other than being his subordinates.
He quickly becomes a powerful force within the city he's in using the power of the automatons, so there isn't much struggle for him so far.
He's not a genius martial artist who quickly levels up, although he does use lots of supplements like pills to increase his own power quickly.
Overall, it has an interesting plot, the system looks good so far, and it quickly paces through the build up faze, although If you don't like fast paced novels then you probably won't like it much.
Hoping this turns out worthwhile and that there are more interaction between the MC and side characters to add more depth to the story rather than it being only about plundering resources to expand his army.
Unreadable.... re write the novel
TL;DR - great premise, ******* execution.
I agree on "hidden gem" assessment with other reviewers. This novel definitely stands aside from many cookie cutter xianxia on this site.
As for genre, I'd say it is a xianxia/mystery with a slight transmigration twist.
Now, is the novel good? I am... rather conflicted. On one hand, I read all the 60 chapters available in one sitting and am even so impressed I am writing this review, so its definitely not trash. On the other hand I find myself not adding the novel to my library - after getting a solid taste of what is it like I am just not very exciting for the next chapter.
Writing quality is average. It could be the author is just trying to imitate (poorly written and translated) xianxia novels, and this is causing his own prose to be generic and uninspiring. It definitely has that cultivation aftertaste - phrases like "boundless heavens", "with a flick of wrist" etc. being peppered all over the chapters. It doesn't quite go down to "repeating explanations several times in a row" type of bad, but still there's much to improve in pure technical writing aspect.
For the story, the only good thing for me is mystery. I would honestly like to know how and who is behind the transmigration and fall of Heaven. So, the premise of the story is 5/5, I was hooked from the begging. But again, while the premise is great, the main body of story is disappointing.
Its... slap-dash? Uneven, unstructured. Events just happen, it seems - enemies and allies are revealed spontaneously and just as easily discarded. The tone is inconsistent too - at a certain point it was nearly a slice of life comedy! It definitely feels like the writer is making stuff up as he goes, without deeper consideration - so if the writer isn't caring about his world building, why should I?
Hi! PhilSwift here with FLEX TAPE... Ahem. I mean a review of the book Artist's Journey In Another World. So, a couple of things.
1. This book is an interesting concept. The concept of having an artist system never occured to me as a good idea as I had thought it would be quite boring. However, this story proved me wrong. In NO way was this boring. It is super funny and entertaining.
2. The writing is extremely detailed. The author clearly put a lot of effort into his writing and his use of descriptions is so amazing. He is able to write out emotional scenes perfectly, tugging on my heartstrings. He is able to paint an image of the surroundings(haha paint so funny) and is able to make each character serve a purpose. Yes, even the annoying af cat.
3. Speaking of the cat, the characters in this story are extremely detailed, allowing you to get a deeper understanding of them. The world is rich and interactions between the characters leave me smiling.
4. There are many different references to our world, which makes it really interesting. For example, Two Hole? Pretty sure that's just One Piece... The amount of books also checks out.
5. One of the only issues I have with the story is it's updating frequency. Unlike some other stories, this one only updates once a day, and has a slightly irregular update schedule. I mean, from what I can see so far, the author usually releases 8 chapters a week, but some days its 0 chapters, other days one, and others 2. Of course, I get that everyone has their own life and the author probably has other things to do.
Overall, great book, I highly recommend you check it out. Hope the book gets more of the love that it deserves.

As much as people may not like the idea of how the Mc tempers his body, you have to remember it's a fictional story. I can't speak for others but I focus more on if I enjoy the world and interactions of the people than if it seems logic in reality. and honestly, it's great writing quality. An immrrsive world and a story I can get behind, give it a try if you feel the same.
It's feels so rushed and doesnt even try to give explanations or context. Also there was a trial read 2 months ago with this exact same set up but with a better title and actually good writing.
