Love the story so far. I am looking forward to how it develops and based on how things have been set up so far it should be extremely enjoyable. Do yourself a favor and give this story a shot, I am expecting it to turn into a very popular story!
As many have accented earlier, I too am not entirely happy with the volactile personality of Ren and other characters, but what amazes me most is the fact that the title contains the word "alchemy
Sounds good and lil cliché like other novels but it’s got Alchemy!!! Just hope it has more of alchemy as the title says and not like other novels where the title boost of alchemy and has no alchemical stuffs in it. Giving my best wishes to the team and hope to read it soon!?
The scene where Fengxue peels that dog hide off with a STONE. Not a spell. Not a magical tool. A sharp stone she picks up from the ground. I need to talk about how viscerally awful this is to read. "a man lying on the ground, bloody and stripped bare, his life or death uncertain, while the pretty older sister sat cross-legged in the pool of blood, her fair face spattered with a few flecks of crimson, cradling a bloody hide in her arms, and smiled at them with crinkled eyes." CRINKLED EYES. She smiled with crinkled eyes after skinning a human being alive. And then she does a soul-deliverance chant like she's just finished doing someone's laundry. The contrast is absolutely chilling. But then—the worldbuilding detail about Qingming Mountain disciples being so covered in blood from demon-hunting that the townspeople don't even report it. That's such a small detail but it tells you everything about this world. Death and violence are so normalized that a blood-soaked cultivator walking through town is just... Tuesday. And then the scene shifts to Grandma Song's tofu shop. The morning mist, the bubbling oil, the daughter's clear voice calling out to customers. A drop of hot oil splashes on her callused hand and she still smiles. This is such a tender, ordinary moment—until the stool is empty and only the old shepherd with his flock of sheep remains. The whip cracking. The lamb staring stubbornly at the woman. The transition from that brutal skinning scene to this quiet, devastating loss is masterful. One moment you're reeling from blood and gore, the next you're holding your breath because a little girl is gone.

This was such a good book yet i feel I am rereading the same plot again.The chapters in the 700s are the same as the most recent. She is stuck, unhappy, whether its pills or gel. Stella was strong and smart, now she is going insane and suicidal. There is no hope for the reader.
