I love how in love they are with each other! It's the best! But I'm also excited for the return of Grayson because I know that's just gonna confuse Scar even more! Cute chapter!
Nice plot, I would like to see how the story unveils
There's this one image that just stuck with me like glue. Xu Chi on the sofa, half the quilt on him and half on the floor, and the entryway lamp casting half the room in light and half in shadow. The rain has stopped. The clock is ticking. And he's staring at that closed door like it's going to swallow him whole. That scene is SO cinematic. I could literally see it — the dim yellow light, the stillness after rain, the way the shadows seem to breathe. And then the door creaks open and You Chumu steps out like some pale ghost in loose clothes, completely innocent-looking, and the whole atmosphere shifts. The apartment itself feels like a character. It's small, cramped, with a shoe cabinet and a washstand and a sofa that's clearly not meant for sleeping. But it's also Xu Chi's only refuge, and the fact that he's sharing it with someone he doesn't trust makes every corner feel threatening. When You Chumu is crouched beside the sofa poking his face, the intimacy of that small space becomes suffocating. And the city! The worldbuilding drops are so well-placed. The defaced sign at the management office — "Yancheng Central Management Office" scribbled over by mischievous tags, "utterly lacking in authority." This is a city on the brink, a war border zone where crime floods in and unspeakable research happens. You Chumu didn't just escape a lab — he escaped into a place where no one would miss him. The stairwell scene is also incredible. Concrete, cold, quiet, rain-soaked newspapers stuck to the ground. Xu Chi pulling his coat tighter. It feels so lived-in and grim. And then You Chumu laughing on the sofa with his legs in the air, admiring the slippers like they're some alien artifact. The contrast between the grim outside world and the bizarre domesticity inside is just chef's kiss.
Great book and interesting plot and subplots!
Chapter 55 was uploaded twice. it's an error.please ignore one of them. it will be taken down by my editor soon. I don't have the power to do that.accept my sincere apologies,please.Thanks.
I was tempted to give it a 4 because I’m frustrated with the male lead(Kian), but it is too well written to deserve anything less than 5 stars, besides I adore the female lead(Morgana)! So it balances out.
I’ve enjoyed every word wish I could purchase for my library
I like this book but the constant errors with the names is getting very annoying. does noone proofread these books before they are released?
Basic, amateur writing. The story lacks depth and details with errors throughout. Pieces of the story are very disjointed. Excessive use of the term “playboy”. The situations, reactions, and decisions of characters are completely mind boggling throughout the story. Overall, pointless read.
It was a great read!
WORTH THE READ. This is my all time favourite book. I would love to see it as a movie and I will definitely buy it if it’s in paperback. Thank you so much author. This is The one book that has me daydreaming all day and night. It is Worth paying for. I’ve re-read it more than 5 times already.
