I need to talk about the atmosphere in these chapters because the author is NOT playing around with mood. The opening image of Ruan Zhizhi drifting to sleep between 'unrealistic worries and imaginations' sets the tone immediately—she's physically present but mentally somewhere else, haunted by Li Sicheng's empty social media post. 'A city, I'm back.' That's it. That's the update. Three years and that's all he posts. Then the lecture hall scene—she arrives early, finds a spot in the back, puts on headphones, and for a fleeting moment feels like she's truly back in university. The author writes: 'Back then, the sky was always so blue.' I literally got chills. That single line captures so much nostalgia and loss. But the real masterpiece is the sunset scene at the end. Twilight spreading, the sun sinking low, 'the red glow of sunset spread across the sky, even tinting his pupils a dark hue, almost overwhelming her.' The building goes from packed to empty, cold and heavy under that light. Shi Yan leaning against the doorframe with that faint scent of tobacco. The invisible distance between their hearts despite being physically close. This is cinematic writing at its finest—every detail serves the emotional weight of the moment.
I have to say out of all the stories from this author this one is my favorite... the flow of the writing, the characters, the world building, everything is much higher quality than average Webnovel other novels. Now the only that annoys me just a little is our mc is quite edgy and yapping about society alot(it get better tho) but man he has skill and will to back up his big mouth, can't wait for more chapters
