very bad story
Beautiful write up. I love the twist and the character. More grease to your elbow.
Great story line... I've read this book for 6 times Well Done author
Overall great story! Some of the phrases read funny in English but it’s minor. The ending leaves you ready for an book. Thank you for not making this super long.
Can we just talk about the way Bai Qi eats this paste and Qin Yaoyao watches him? The text says he 'maintained the elegance of a high-ranking nobleman, but the speed was surprisingly fast' and Chang An notices that 'the Master not only didn't frown today, he didn't even stop!' This is such a quiet, understated way of showing care. Bai Qi doesn't say thank you. He doesn't soften. But he comes back the next day and orders shredded tofu with Chinese toon — his own requested dish. That's his love language. And Qin Yaoyao? She's calculating her expenses on an abacus one moment, deadpan telling a dangerous nobleman that her father was just a common tofu seller the next, then spending her entire evening preparing a four-tier meal for someone she barely knows because 'this was her first long-term catering engagement, she had to put in twelve-tenths of her effort.' She's terrified of what she's stumbled into, but she doesn't waver. Not once. The note she folds into the food box says 'Spring Qi begins to stir' and on the back: 'Springtime calls for warm nourishment, and one should avoid raw or cold foods.' This woman is showing care through food while her face stays completely neutral. And Bai Qi? He keeps that note. 'The neatly folded note was resting quietly in the rosewood treasure box to his right.' He doesn't throw it away. He treasures it. This is the slowest, most patient romance I've ever read and I am OBSESSED.
