Nice story. Exciting pace. It's got me hooked up. Please update more Author.
I have to admit when starting this book I was not sure if I would read it until the end.... now I'm hooked and waiting for the next chapters. I have become quite invested in the character's development..have laughed at the misunderstanding between them. I am waiting (un)patiently for the conclusion
This is the book my wife talks about before bed against my will.
Damien is such an ass!( ̄~ ̄;)
He deserves a very painful slap from Lana because of what he made her go through!
Anyways.....I love Zaire already

Need more chapters
Hmm Laura is interesting. I need to see where this goes next.
I lost interest and couldn’t justify spending money to finish it.
There are so many layers to this story beneath the surface, and I want to talk about the themes that are emerging. The central theme is clearly about the death of hope and the birth of self-preservation. Xue Ning's journey from desperately seeking her family's love to completely letting go is the emotional arc of the story. The Qingsigu poison is perfect symbolism for this—it doesn't just kill the body; it kills the emotions, the desires, the attachments. By the time she dies, she'll be an emotionless puppet. But in a way, she's already becoming that. Her heart is dead ashes. The prayer beads are another powerful symbol. They represent everything Xue Ning used to give—her time, her devotion, her hope for love. She carved Buddhist scriptures onto each bead, sent them to be blessed, all to protect her eldest brother. Now she's keeping them. The beads symbolize her reclaiming what was once given away for nothing. There's also the theme of identity and belonging. Xue Ning was the family's scapegoat since she was five, blamed for her third brother's death and Xue Mingzhu's illness. But she was also the one who loved them most, who tried hardest to earn their affection. The story is asking: what happens when the person who loves the most is the one who gets hurt the most? And then there's Feng Xian—the deposed Crown Prince, the man everyone fears. He's an outsider in his own capital, just like Xue Ning is an outsider in her own family. Their meeting isn't random; it's thematic. Two people who have been rejected by the systems they belonged to, finding each other in the chaos.
Pl do write a story about Dimitri Aiden's friend...would love to read more about him.
