Ill give 5/5 since its a kingdom builder. Now for the actual review ....First off even though ima complain mostly its because its good enough to complain about and I like the story. Anyways my biggest issue with the story is the pacing and YES I know the first 200 or so chapters is set-up so I wont mention them. But after Volume 1 its supposed to pick up, and maybe it does a little bit but the writing style makes it seem like it doesn't. ---Basically as a reader who is caught up, I have to wait 1 day for 1 chapter, and that isn't bad as that release rate is quite good. But the content in those chapters are not worth the day wait, so instead you feel disappointed when you look and buy a chapter that is about cutting hair ... thats it that was the ENTIRE chapter! In a kingdom builder that can easily span 1000s of chapters these small things like getting a haircut or finding bones of a dino should be small parts of the overall chapter. ----- What I'm saying is if I stopped reading for a year and came back I wouldn't have a problem because I could skip those chapters or read them and not feel scammed by it because there are hundreds of chapters to binge read. But that isn't the case, Instead I look forward to a chapter to release and it turns out to be a character who doesn't matter getting their haircut and their feelings about it.----- Anyways your book do what you want ill probably still read it even if I feel disappointed because kingdom builders that are readable are RARE.
I like the story so far, but I seriously hope to god it doesn’t become another Necromancer story. Sadly it feels overdone, and i hope it goes in a different direction. Still would read nonetheless, but it would be a lot less interesting.

Let me just say this upfront: chapter 4 is basically one giant exposition dump and I was supposed to hate it. Instead, I couldn't stop reading. Here's why it works. The author could have just dumped all this worldbuilding at once—ration system, salary structure, black market prices, the famine history—and bored me to death. But instead, it's filtered through Xia Baozhu's practical, slightly cynical brain as she's trying to figure out her actual situation. She's calculating: monthly salary twenty-six yuan, ten cents per bath, three yuan a month if she bathes daily—that's a significant chunk. Her mother earns seventy-six, her father forty-two, but after subsidizing their respective families, they're down to eighty-eight yuan. 'What a level of filial piety and devotion!' she thinks, and I was cackling. The pacing here is clever because every piece of information serves a dual purpose: worldbuilding AND character development. We learn about the famine rations (42 jin fine grains dropped to 32 jin mixed grains, cooking oil from 500ml to 200ml), but we also learn that Xia Baozhu is the type of person who immediately starts calculating how to survive in this economy. She's not panicking. She's making a spreadsheet in her head. Then there's the flashback structure—we get the original host's backstory woven in naturally as Xia Baozhu processes the memories, and it creates this really effective emotional counterweight to the dry economic details. One moment you're reading about black market pork prices (ten yuan per jin!), the next you're reading about a girl who died from a fever because her coworkers wouldn't talk to her. The chapter ends mid-thought actually, with Grandmother Xia talking about meat distribution changing from once a year to once every few months, and the text just trails off. It's a cliffhanger of sorts—not dramatic, but it creates this sense that the world is slowly opening up, that things are improving, and Xia Baozhu is about to step into that improving world with her modern skills and zero sentimentality.
Love this book and this author. Allie has created a world and story that draws you in from the beginning. It’s not your typical werewolf story…it’s so much more!
I’m giving it 3 stars because although the story was good, the author left the ending very abruptly and with no closure
