So far I love the start and can tell there is a ton of potential. The only downside is the 7chapters/week release......................................
Is they're a reason every Chinese novel has Qi in it?????? I mean it cool and all but it just doesn't fit here at all. Combining science, Qi/Mana, when it'll be the same novel even without it perhaps better. Like DC Comic's Doomsday only the starting point is the Weak Human genome instead of alien. However adding Qi just makes it weird, like this mistic energy "Qi/Mana" evolved everything else but not the Humans. If you used the prehistoric earth as a reference it would have been an awesome read, like the earth regressed now we have bigger animals. What a waste of a good story.
It's an excellent novel and I am hoping that author picks it back up ( considering it isn't dropped).
I was really bored for a while before I stumbled on this novel. It has its own unique perspective character and world design. It's worth the time....only downside is that I have no clue if it will be continued or we will be left hanging here o-o)/ author San comon pick it up.
This is too funny! A system with the mission to annoy and ship the host into BL relationships. The chapters are short but many chapters released at once make up for that. Love it so so much.
A shameless 5 stars from the author! I would like to inform all new and old readers that if you are here for a fast-paced novel, this novel isn’t the one for you.
In this novel, you can expect heartwarming and boring moments, as well as characters with their own backstories. Every character and villain you meet in this novel has their own arcs and stories that will be revealed later on in the series.
You won’t expect a lot of cliches villains here as most of them are rather rational and careful with what they do, the true villains in the story aren’t really high prolific. Therefore, you shouldn't come to a conclusion too quickly, hehe.
As for romance, you won’t be expecting any harem from me anytime soon, hehe! This is a lighthearted read and the romance between the characters will be warm and fulfilling to the heart.
The novel is slow-paced so you can expect to enter the main story around chapters 30-40.

Those who liked this novel are idiots. MC can jump 10 level to defeat a man by attacking balls but when it really matters, when all his friends junior senior died he didn't use that power to defeat people 1 or 3 level higher than him. He got experience by getting hit but when the sect fight started, the system totally stopped. No new experience for skills where he got thousand to millionss of exp before. And the funny thing, with all his cheats, unlimited pills he is very low level compared to people around same who have nothing but level is way up. Author never care about logic and his own rules. just wrote whatever trash he could think of.
A disgusting of of a author and his disgusting of of a mc...
I knew Chinese authors are disgusting when writing novels most of the times but yet again they proven that they are more disgusting than i thought ...
Can Zhai Zu go wrong? I started reading this particular novel due to an interesting title. I had never heard of Zhai Zu before. I've read Er gen, IET, and loads of other light novels, of which I barely remember a few. However ToHG stands out alongside titles like Dungeon Defense, and Circus of Oubeniel.
Story
Ah man, I love the pacing of this story! It's got ups and downs, but the pacing is beautiful. The Mc doesn't get sudden powerups, nor does he suddenly hit rage mode. He works hard, and is taught well. Our MC isn't some insignificant punk who 'struggles' his way up the ladder through the thickest plot armour you will ever see. No, this is a well thought out plot with a well thought out MC, in an incredibly unique situation. Having practically every single Legendary figure of the older generation teaching you the greatest skills of all time, doesn't lead to an overpowered MC to the extent that he starts becoming Meng Hao's second cousing. No, instead the ride is fair, and while our MC doesn't lose, he is cunning enough not to fight against overpowered enemies straightforwardly. Every encounter with any enemy is meaningful, and sets up the story progression, albeit at a steady pace. All in all, the story is really fun, at times thriller/cliffhanger while at other times its a slice of life tale.
World Building
I feel that ToHG is possibly the greatest masterpiece in the art of world building. A magnificent and inviting world, possibly filled with incredibly mysterious secrets, and dark truths. There seems to be a little bit of cliche when you think about the fallen world of gods and devils, Zhai Zu has pulled it off so incredibly well. There's something really inviting about the world. For starters, the world isn't just there as a stage on which the main character can just screw around. Instead, there's actual focus on the world. An ancient buddha statue being more than what it seems, a trapped noble dragon that turns out to be for more sinister, strange evils that haunt the land, and so much more. And for once, the main character actually thinks about the world, explores it, and enjoys its beauty. I personally just wish I could live in such a magnificent place. After all, with so much to explore, just as the story starts, its nearly irresistable
Characters
Every single character is enthralling. They have depth, and the MC doesn't just go around threatening the young masters of various random sects. Instead, the Mc spends much of his time with his demonic companions, or the elderly of the village. The interactions between them are to an extent humorous(not particularly), but certainly heartwarming. Every character serves a purpose, and isn't just some stepping stone for the lone wold MC to kill before becoming a god. I end up caring what happens to Granny Si, Blind, Deaf and Old Ma, even though we're only 70 chapters through the novel(as of this review). And for once, people aren't shallow. They have motivations, and flaws, and every character is very unique.
Translations
The translations, while not particularly great like that of the grandmaster strategist, is still good. Occasional spelling errors exist, but there are no significant mistakes, and the story reads with most of the original tone and style of the author carried over. I just wish the speed was faster.(NEED MORE CHAPTERS!!!)
All in all, this is probably one of my favourite novels Qi, alongside Reverend Insanity, TKA, TSS and other such dark horse favourites. My reccomendation to anybody- read it. This is hella good.
Although this novel had a lot of cliches, the cheat the MC receives is relatively unique. It's really fast paced and expects you to already know a good amount about Xianxia's. Still, I'm enjoying this right now, even though my enjoyment will probably dwindle after a few hundred chapters.
I wanted more chapters a week . . . . .
An updated overview of the story:
Re: LBA is based in a futuristic-modern world where humans can surpass their biological limits. There is advanced technological innovation, the birth of superhumans, and many more.
What to expect:
1. The story is LitRPG, so a decent portion of the story will revolve around that factor.
2. High amounts of action, life-like dialogue and reactions, and intimate relationships, whether romantic or platonic.
3. The story will focus on the MC's growth above all but also incorporate his allies. Once they are introduced, they will experience growth alongside Kieran.
4. A Weak-to-Strong novel. But the growth more so relates to the MC's power in relation to his enemies. The notion of him being weak from the beginning is wrong. On the contrary, others view him as overpowered.
5. Earth and Xenith (the game's world) will expand in several directions.
6. Evolution, Kingdom-Building, Rise to Fame, and Production (Alchemy, Forging, etc.) all become a focus throughout the story when the plot calls for it.
I have omitted a few other key factors, but those are for you all to learn about after you've begun your reading journey. Enjoy~
