It's an ok novel. It had way too many characters to keep track of, and to be blunt the chapters were too big for reading online. The story is dark, and I dropped it at about the 200 chapter. Nothing wrong with the novel, but it is a hard read, and coupled with its bad formatting it just doesn't make the happy chemicals for me. Give it a go, see for yourselves.
As of chapter 255, it seems like it’s been mostly Chinese with 1 singular Japanese guy.

Try another Novel first ? The MC from this Novel has more emotion then the Anime one. Try Lord of mystery or smt.
Okay im on 430 chapter here is my take. Good story telling. Very likeable smart mc how 1000+ age person should act behave. He doesn’t look down on others. He is very open minded and takes others suggestions well, He is not on FY level but simplicity sake if FY is 15/10 this mc is easily 9.7/10. The only downside for this story is and imo its major one, the amount of chapters authors waste on certain things ex. Im on 430 chapters and they are fighting with boss for 10+ chapters he is not even main you can skip 5-7 chapters and you wont miss much. Author does this way too much not to mention chapters are quite long which is very good thing but dragging the fight every dam arc for no reason makes quite boring and sometimes to show character growth he makes random characters act illogical which makes you feel author is insulting your intelligence. This imo calls for -2 points Overall 8/10 story so far

Read until the demon war or rather the second examination. It's fun 'till then. But the Demon War arc completely makes this novel boring. If you are looking at novels with the same stories but better. I suggest All hail the sect leader or rather the strongest sect of all times.
