There were husks too. Most of them were behind closed doors. Chloe ignored them and she was probably right to. Although in the beginning they were slow and clumsy, now their movements were hardly distinguishable from humans.
Dark Tower was like a Dungeon, filled with unknown monsters and levels. Luckily they find their way into the lowest level of the Dark Tower, the monsters present in this spot are too weak so they killed a few monsters when they killed these monsters they dropped some items. The humans got greedy for those items, the monsters are weak so everyone felt like they were heroes.
