I am in love with this book. Love the story. Love almost all the characters. Hate her father right now. Hopefully he turns around. I don't want to wait till Monday for the next chapter lol but totally understand set schedules
I love the way the author wrote the book. The unexpected twists; the emotions; the characters: all pulled you in so that you was captivated by the story. Amazing I really enjoyed it very much.
I love it.. I'm so excited for the next update
Really good book.
I'm really enjoying this. it's hard not to feel fo the main characters as everything they thought they knew is changed.
This book *WAS* really good, until the author abandoned the book before the end. It’s been over 3 months and no updates. I spent good money on this book and there is no option for a refund. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! (Unless you like unfinished books)
amazing book.........
Can we appreciate how Lu Zhiyan speaks? Or rather, how little he speaks? The author gives him lines like "Mm, I'll try it now" and "This soup of yours is special. I like it." That's it. But it works because it's TRUE to who he is. He's a soldier, he's been through missions, he's not the type to pour out his feelings. And yet, the subtext in his silence says everything. When he sees her hands and feels "quiet relief" that she hasn't hurt herself—that's more emotional than any monologue could be. The dialogue between these two feels incredibly natural because it's not trying to be poetic. It's two people who are still figuring each other out, communicating as much through what they DON'T say as what they do. Ji Nanxi's lines are warmer, more expressive—"Husband, you're back just in time!" versus his clipped responses. That contrast in voice is perfect. It tells you everything about their dynamic without the author having to explain it. The narrative voice itself is also doing a lot of work here, especially in describing Lu Zhiyan's internal state. It's observant but never overwrought, which keeps the emotional beats landing cleanly.
