Sigh. When will I find another exceptional horror novel that doesn't have any romance in it...
Rssg itself is a sh*t novel and they are calling it better than this one. idk man. This one is quite better coz it atleast has a proper antagonist from the beginning unlike rssg and also the romance part is quite good. Yup the Ending is sh*t and extremely rushed but I still think it atleast had a story.
The interactions between ML and MC are amusing and entertaining, but Chapter 19 has piqued my concern regarding the direction the story might take. I'm unsure if I'll proceed because, quite frankly, I don't particularly enjoy consent issues in narratives. So, fair warning.

In Chapter 19, ML proposes a friends-with-benefits arrangement to MC, using somewhat manipulative reasoning to convince them. This particular chapter raises red flags, especially when ML presents a "contract" with terms that initially seem reasonable but quickly become problematic. The power dynamic between ML and MC becomes skewed from the second clause onward, with provisions like "occasional refusals during the process are fun, and refusal or negative response is not allowed," which sounds like non-consensual dynamics.
MC initially recognizes the oddity of the terms and hesitates, but ML subtly gaslights them by making statements like, "ending the relationship isn't an issue for me, I'm not gay" and questioning the value of love, implying that women are only after money. This kind of discourse feels toxic.
Given these concerns, I'm uncertain about continuing the read.
I must admit, I was quite enthusiastic at first because it aligned with my preferences, and I was thoroughly enjoying it. However, I couldn't shake off the worry that it was so short, only nine chapters, which led me to fear it might not live up to my expectations. Despite these concerns, I decided to continue reading. Unfortunately, the ending truly left me disappointed. I held onto a faint hope that the author might surprise us with a satisfying conclusion, but alas, it ended abruptly, leaving me to imagine what could have been. I would have loved for the story to continue, as there was potential for the couple's adorable and heartwarming moments. But overall, it was indeed a decent read.
In a realistic assessment, it might be a 4, but my personal enjoyment soared to a 5. The story had an intriguing dynamic between the virtuous MC and the selfish, obsessive villain, creating an extremely imbalanced power struggle that aligned perfectly with the antagonist's character. Despite the MC's situational weakness, they possessed both physical strength and a resilient inner strength; the fact that others fell for them added a comical touch. The narrative was captivating, though the plot and pacing started to lose steam towards the climax. Overall, a riveting read despite its eventual pacing issues.

ts pretty good, remind me of duoluo dalu (soul land) and pokemon. the plot is nice and you will need to read over 50+ to completely understand the power level system. theres not much interaction and the mc is alright, so far not rash or stupid like other typical chinese mc. its a nice read overall 3.7/10 might have to read more to understand better
