To be honest, when I re-read "Arifureta," I don't think it's as terrible as others claim. It could be biased since it was one of my initial light novels, but most reviews I've seen stopped after the main story's climax, the Liberators Arc.
After finishing the main plot, I decided to explore the after story, and I was pleasantly surprised. The series has a fantastic blend of comedy and everyday life moments. The main character's growth, especially after his experiences, is evident, and the after story doesn't pale in comparison to the main narrative. We witness the development of supporting characters, turning the annoying hero from the beginning into a more likable figure.
What truly won me over were these character interactions and the well-balanced mix of fluffy, action-packed, and humorous scenes. In terms of uniqueness, Arifureta stands out from other isekai novels I've read due to the protagonist's struggle to return home rather than simply accepting his new life. The journey, despite forming a harem, appeals to the inner otaku in everyone.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an isekai with a perfect harmony of feel-good elements, thrilling action, and laughter, Arifureta delivers. And the after story only adds to the enjoyment, trust me; I wouldn't lie about that!
I initially had low expectations for xianxia novels, as they often followed a formula where the main character (MC) shifted from one minor kingdom to a larger one every fifty chapters, joined a more powerful sect, discovered hidden realms, and engaged in repetitive confrontations before leaving their homeland behind. It intrigued me why the MC didn't stay and build their own sect. This particular novel provided an answer - the protagonist displayed pragmatism, knowing when to push forward and when to retreat. Besides cultivation, they took on the responsibilities of leading a sect. I found the pacing engaging and enjoyable. The translation by Max&Koga was commendable, and the premium chapters were reasonably priced, making it a great value for money.
The concept is intriguing, but it leaves me wanting more. I would love to read at least three or four additional chapters that clearly outline the subsequent events. However, given that it's a one-shot, that's not possible. Regardless, the story earns a solid 4 stars from me. To provide some context, the act of taking someone's head isn't just murder; it signifies a profound merging and fulfilling their desires. The duke's daughter's backstory hints at the nature of these wishes. As a fan of narratives centered around shared bodies, particularly those with romantic connections, like "Two as One Princesses," this particular storyline resonates deeply. Unfortunately, it remains unfulfilled in this format.

I've just completed reading this, and unfortunately, if you were hoping for a gripping, action-packed horror tale, your expectations might not be met. Although I generally shy away from horror, I didn't find this book particularly scary.
The majority of the story revolves around the MC's search for ML or ML's pursuit of the MC. The scare factor mainly comes from the reincarnators, who are constantly dying due to their interference with the MC. There's only one arc where they learn to follow the MC instead of using him as a pawn.
Even the so-called "main boss," Lord God, doesn't pose much of a threat. ML displays a possessive, yet protective nature, ensuring MC's safety at all costs. The love story leans towards insta-love, but the novel offers an explanation for it by the end.
In summary, while it may not be the most thrilling horror experience, this book is decent for a quick, easy-to-read and translate read. With just six main arcs (including the epilogue and extra), I found most of them engaging.
