Alternatively known as “Descent of God of Magic”, this novel is shorter relative to others (less than 800 chapters), but it is a good read (although the ending feels a liitle rushed). MC travels to a game world and has a level system that gives him missions and lets him upgrade his level of magic. Armed with his knowledge from the game, MC is OP, but has a very likeable personality. He is intelligent and excels in strategies, but he is also willing to help others and go the extra mile. Romance is well developed with one key love interest (a plus for those who don’t like MC picking up girls everywhere. MC does have other women attracted to him). Overall, a recommended read.

Please note that this is meant as constructive criticism, not complaining, as I love the story.You really need to get an English Thesaurus to broaden your vocabulary and help find more appropriate descriptive words. I know others have spoken to you about "lowly" being used improperly already (should word swap every instance of "lowly" with "softly"), but some other words are really out of place as well. For example; "nodding furiously in agreement". Furiously is a word normally used to describe a degree of anger. It "can" be used to describe intensity, but "nodding furiously" will throw off your readers because it implies anger (check the definition of the root word "fury" to better understand why). There are several other words that would better describe the visual you were intending, such as "vigorously
Okay, I need to talk about this scene where Shen Baizhou tackles what he thinks is a burglar and it turns out to be Su Hongdou in a taekwondo uniform. This is genuinely one of the funniest plot twists I have read in a long time. The author builds this whole tension with the news headline about villa burglaries, making you think something dangerous is actually happening. Then BAM, it is just a girl sneaking down for fried rice at 2 AM. The misdirection is brilliant. What makes it even better is the physical comedy of the situation. Shen Baizhou is doing all these MMA moves he learned from watching fights in his previous life, and he is pinning this person down thinking they are a criminal. Meanwhile Su Hongdou is just trying to eat and get accused of being a thief. The detail about her oily mouth and the partially eaten rice bowl is the perfect comedic button on the whole scene. It completely deflates the tension the author built up. I also love how the plot keeps feeding into this running joke about Su Hongdou trying to catch Shen Baizhou being a pervert based on anime logic. She goes upstairs in a silk nightgown trying to tempt him, and he just thinks she is a rich person with weird quirks. The plot is basically two people operating on completely different wavelengths and the comedy comes from that gap. The author does a great job of making the misunderstanding feel organic rather than forced. Everyone is acting consistently within their own logic, they just have completely wrong information about each other.

Typical cardboard MC for your middle school readers to self insert in. I can't decide which is worse, cardboard MCs or "righteous" MCs. I guess people voted for this because it sounds similar to another popular novel but look at what we got, Lord Xue Ying didn't die for this.

Really good novel from Mao Ni. The main characters are really likeable and the even the antagonists are likeable and understandable. However the story is a little slow paced at the start as it focuses more on world building and character development. The story becomes really amazing later on and the language used in the story is fantastic.
