I was constantly annoyed by the descriptions of this Nigerian woman’s face when she was e.g. embarrassed. Brown-skin women’s faces usually don’t turn red when we’re embarrassed. I was also uncomfortable with the description of our hair e.g. Afro American hair is not how we describe our hair.
