Such a refreshing read!!! STRONG female lead. This was so different and so insanely satisfying. It has everything, drama, love, friendship, rebuilding. You’ll laugh and cry and go on an emotional roller coaster but it’s worth it. I’m going to re read it now

I need to talk about Xie Zhao and Jiang He because this dynamic is absolutely wrecking me. The way they care for each other without saying it out loud—Jiang He shoving gauze into his mouth to shut him up about his wounds, Xie Zhao lying about switching to an easier job just to ease her worry. That moment when she secretly watches him on the roof beams and cries? And then she just... gives up everything? The debt collection, the business plan she'd drafted so many times? She abandons it all because she can't bear the thought of him getting hurt. But here's what gets me—the author never makes it neat. Xie Zhao doesn't immediately understand why she quit. He thinks she's just a young girl who couldn't handle humiliation from neighbors. He has no idea she saw him climbing those beams. The dramatic irony is killing me. And then Lu Changgeng drops the bomb: she cried. Xie Zhao's heart suddenly clenches. That single line hit me like a truck. These two are so deeply in love but they keep missing each other's signals, and it's both beautiful and agonizing.
