This story is still ok for me. It's may not be as good as WMW but at least i can enjoy it well. Suddenly it's go premium without any notification from the translater. Well, i'm quit now.
Can Zhai Zu go wrong? I started reading this particular novel due to an interesting title. I had never heard of Zhai Zu before. I've read Er gen, IET, and loads of other light novels, of which I barely remember a few. However ToHG stands out alongside titles like Dungeon Defense, and Circus of Oubeniel.StoryAh man, I love the pacing of this story! It's got ups and downs, but the pacing is beautiful. The Mc doesn't get sudden powerups, nor does he suddenly hit rage mode. He works hard, and is taught well. Our MC isn't some insignificant punk who 'struggles' his way up the ladder through the thickest plot armour you will ever see. No, this is a well thought out plot with a well thought out MC, in an incredibly unique situation. Having practically every single Legendary figure of the older generation teaching you the greatest skills of all time, doesn't lead to an overpowered MC to the extent that he starts becoming Meng Hao's second cousing. No, instead the ride is fair, and while our MC doesn't lose, he is cunning enough not to fight against overpowered enemies straightforwardly. Every encounter with any enemy is meaningful, and sets up the story progression, albeit at a steady pace. All in all, the story is really fun, at times thriller/cliffhanger while at other times its a slice of life tale.World BuildingI feel that ToHG is possibly the greatest masterpiece in the art of world building. A magnificent and inviting world, possibly filled with incredibly mysterious secrets, and dark truths. There seems to be a little bit of cliche when you think about the fallen world of gods and devils, Zhai Zu has pulled it off so incredibly well. There's something really inviting about the world. For starters, the world isn't just there as a stage on which the main character can just screw around. Instead, there's actual focus on the world. An ancient buddha statue being more than what it seems, a trapped noble dragon that turns out to be for more sinister, strange evils that haunt the land, and so much more. And for once, the main character actually thinks about the world, explores it, and enjoys its beauty. I personally just wish I could live in such a magnificent place. After all, with so much to explore, just as the story starts, its nearly irresistableCharacters Every single character is enthralling. They have depth, and the MC doesn't just go around threatening the young masters of various random sects. Instead, the Mc spends much of his time with his demonic companions, or the elderly of the village. The interactions between them are to an extent humorous(not particularly), but certainly heartwarming. Every character serves a purpose, and isn't just some stepping stone for the lone wold MC to kill before becoming a god. I end up caring what happens to Granny Si, Blind, Deaf and Old Ma, even though we're only 70 chapters through the novel(as of this review). And for once, people aren't shallow. They have motivations, and flaws, and every character is very unique. TranslationsThe translations, while not particularly great like that of the grandmaster strategist, is still good. Occasional spelling errors exist, but there are no significant mistakes, and the story reads with most of the original tone and style of the author carried over. I just wish the speed was faster.(NEED MORE CHAPTERS!!!)All in all, this is probably one of my favourite novels Qi, alongside Reverend Insanity, TKA, TSS and other such dark horse favourites. My reccomendation to anybody- read it. This is hella good.

To the original author and the new author, I'd like to give my sincerest thanks for writing such a good novel. I'm thoroughly entertained.Normally I'm not a fan of aloof and robot-like MCs, since they often come off as boring and usually kill whatever story development or character growth there could have been. But this MC has, beneath that cold exterior, a warm and beating heart and a well-explained past for trying to kill off his own emotions. The humour ain't nothing to sneeze at either and the supporting characters have depth and aren't just passersby to fill the gap. Much appreciated.
Another dumb novel and dumb writer only 2 chapters in the plot is already going into the generic chinese novel plot haaaaaaayssss chinese writers doesnt really learn from other mistakes they just keep copying and copying
If you value your time then dont read. The plot is nonexistent and the characters are very stupid. An example is they ask if a ransom old guy was someone from 200 years ago, he says yes and they just believe him
This story scratched an Itch I did not know I had. Not only does it give you a looting system for bodies instead of random stuff just popping out of thin air, but it also gives you relatable skills. Nurses heal. Thugs steal. And zombie eat. I look forward to seeing more.

A história está muito boa até aqui (ch42) o protagonista está equilibrado mas não consegui perceber o por que de outros personagens que apareceram até agora ter alguma estatística em "S". Fora isso acho bem interessante a forma como abordou diversos assuntos e esperava ver um pouco mais sobre questões raciais (o que não é totalmente opção do autor, então tanto faz).É uma boa leitura leve e que da pra maratonar facilmente sem perceber o tempo, só espero que não acabe tendo um fim abrupto e que o autor saiba continuar equilibrando o MC.English:I'm Brazilian and I'm not good at English ... Other than that I find it very interesting the way he approached several subjects and hoped to see a little more about racial issues (which is not entirely up to the author, so whatever).It is a good light reading and you can marathon easily without realizing the time, I just hope it doesn't end up having an abrupt end and that the author knows how to continue balancing the MC.
Don't get me wrong, I loved this story, however, after so many chapters I feel nothing but disappointment and like I wasted my time.The premise was good, it had everything going for it and although the development was slow, it was interesting and honestly kind of addicting to read. However, it just went downhill for me. MC is supposed to have a system which he just tossed aside for some idiotic reason his already unbearably slow progression almost comes to a complete halt for at least 2k chapters. This novel had promise, it had soul, it was good. I don't know what the author was thinking but he honestly murdered the story through the introduction of certain characters, the lack of focus on the MC at times and simply, the unbearably slow progression of the MC. I honestly feel like a snail can go around the world faster than the MC can progress. Oh and don't even get me started on how the MC lets the worst option of an FL walk all over him. God this is infuriating. honestly, just read the first couple hundred chapters, that's about as good as it's gonna get, or don't, use your time for something productive
I feel like this is the only novel that started in recent times that has come this far. It has consistent updates and the quality hasn't dropped significantly even nearing 600 chapters. I wouldn't call this a great novel by any means, but it's a great to pass time with. More importantly it manages to expertly evade all the pitfalls/turn-offs that new novels all seem to have. Yep, there maybe nothing great about it, but there is absolutely nothing bad about it. And this is something I cannot tell about any of the recent novels. The only warning signals going on in my head is about the whole "human race" thing. With increasing diplomatic channels and the new event, I hope they don't harp on about it. More importantly for someone intending to be Lord of All Races, I would find it a bit uncomfortable, to put any race above the other.
