I devoured almost an entire day reading through every chapter posted here, completely captivated by the story. It immerses readers immediately, as our protagonist is transported into the leading role of a novel and we're swiftly introduced to the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL).
The narrative follows the familiar tale of two clueless lovebirds, where both MC and FL struggle to acknowledge their growing feelings, often brushing them aside. The story brims with intense emotional tension, which, quite honestly, is the essence of a compelling slow-burn romance, and it delivers that in abundance. Watching their reciprocal rescue missions and the ensuing confusion between them is truly engaging.
There's also a subplot involving revenge, but it leans more towards predictable palace intrigue rather than genuinely frightening villains. I would have appreciated more high-stakes drama, but the focus on character development and relationship dynamics is commendable. If you're looking for a well-written romance with a fully realized FL and aren't too concerned about the broader plot, I wholeheartedly recommend this.
Finally someone who understands true masterpiece. This novel should be ranked way higher than it is. I mean this novel is one of the best novels I've read. There are no complaints that I found myself with it except for some personal ones but that's totally okay. The mc is like the king of all mc. He is cold but not too cold, he cares about his people but not to the point that it will stop him from doing what he wants to do. Thank you for recognizing this novel for what it truly is. Because if you didn't then you wouldn't have tried out the mtl.
poison taste test up to chapter 632: The story and plot is much better than the sm*t. The issue with the sm*t is it's all foreplay with no penetration play really. author will write an entire chapter of foreplay, c*nn*l*ng*s, finger, kissing and stuff but once MC penetrates the sm*t ends within 2-4 lines the same way every time. it's like getting blue balled by a story. The plot is honestly top tier, plus this has a prequal called Demon Lord's succubus (very dark with rape, non-consensual bdsm and stuff) The Incubus System doesn't have this stuff (besides rape-backstory(its mentioned once) and consensual BDSM) so you are fine. It also has a shared universe with the story Dragon King's harem. My biggest issue putting aside the sm*t is the release rate of chapters, it is only around 10 a month. author is already at like chapter 920 on his Patreon so it will take like 2 years to catch up lol, which is fine since we are reading for free but sounds kind of ridiculous if you think about it.
