The worldbuilding in this novel is so casually brilliant that you barely notice it until you're completely immersed. We've got an ABO society where shifters exist, where Alphas can transform into massive predators, where Omegas have pheromone glands that can literally overwhelm a room, and where a cat café running a 'boy band flash mob event' with Alpha staff is apparently just a normal business strategy. The Mogao Cat café scenes are so vividly rendered—the assembly-line process of serving cats in batches to avoid overworking them, the high-pitched meowing, the cats rubbing against people and rolling around. It feels like a real place. And then there's Xiao Yu's apartment, which has become this sacred private domain that only his brother and now Leon have entered. The contrast between the public chaos of the café and the intimate, pheromone-scented space of the apartment creates this wonderful sense of two worlds colliding. The most cinematic moment has to be when Leon transforms into the Siberian tiger and tries to dive into the wardrobe for escape, but only his huge head fits and the rest of his body is stuck. He has to back out and crash onto the floor, then starts rolling around acting cute. A five-hundred-pound tiger doing the equivalent of a toddler tantrum because he's embarrassed. The visual of that is absolutely unhinged and I would watch this adaptation in a heartbeat.
This story has a lot of potential. Just hope author explains more on the lore, empires, magic and Mc’s origins
