I've been reading a lot of reviews mentioning a slow pace, and frankly, I don't think the pace is slow at all. I've read the likes of Ze Tian Ji (enjoyed it too) and the pace of this novel is quite a bit faster than that gem. And do remember that this is actually somewhat of a kingdom building novel (though I'm sure it'll develop into something much grander in the future) and not a typical cultivation novel. For a kingdom building novel, this pace is actually quite balanced. The title can be a bit misleading though (since it sounds like your typical cultivation novel).Yuan Tong's works tend to have pretty solid world building. And this one is shaping up into another great read. Fair warning though. People with short attention spans or those who dislike the more gradual and methodical approach to story development of the kingdom building sub-genre would probably be bored out of their minds.

Our character's thinking is on track and fully developed, so you won't be bothered if the main character is dumb or makes silly mistakes. Anyway, the overall performance of the writing is good. An interesting concept in which the reader chooses the path of the main character. It is the perfect read for someone who wishes to interact with the story in a meaningful way while reading a well-written plot. Good work, author!

MC is a brain dead retard with a hero complex made out to be smart and clever because 10% of the time he makes a decent choice or "remembered something I researched for a story".The other 90% is spent with him freaking out over tiny problems and in general just being an idiot that feels the need to protect and save everyone, most of the time failing and literally fainting at the last stretch before being saved by whatever plot armor pops out of some little loli ass.Would not recommend at all.

Interesting premise. Decent story. Places a lot of focus on comedy and face slapping than actual plot and development. I've given that a pass as of now because he's so weak. Usually, the plot and character development don't take place till he gets some actual strength in the world with these sect systems but I don't feel invested enough in the character or the things he finds himself in. Dull and feels like a drag to keep reading.

You really need a goddamn proofreader... The novel is fine as is, but I’m finding at least 4 mistakes every chapter. Some aren’t bad, while there are those that make me cringe...
