Don't buy this it says completed but its not even close. It was dropped and Webnovel is scamming peolle by saying it is completed. It literally is stopped and is no longer being translated. You can't even get ahold of the author or translation team.
So the book says complete but the synopses doesn’t match the book they don’t divorce or have a child???
SOOOO many of the beautiful literary and religious nuances are lost in translation. (More so than normal.) To the point that I want to stab somebody. If you are going to throw around a billion pinyin terms, give the readers something to connect it to, otherwise it is a burden. Right now, as this is translated, it is completely burdensome.
If you are going to reference poems, give us the footnotes so we can read the original/poet's other works. (Yes, I am that dork. Sue me.)
The religious themes of Daoism vs Buddhism to defy the heavens are very strong and in this story would have been argued clearly through classical texts and philosophical thoughts. If I haven't read many of the original texts that I have seen referenced here, I would have been 100% lost.

I'll write this review just because i think this novel would be good but the way this novel is written is so weird.. the novel is in 1st person all the time like mc is narrating the story.. this is not how it's supposed to be.. most parts should be in 3rd person.. only thinking and talking should be in 1st person
This story was great but a bit confusing as midway through the chapter count the author changes characters. Is this intentional or a mistake?
This totally detracts the reader from the story as it breaks continuity.
