the chapter update 94 was super amazing
Okay so this chapter is where everything CRASHES. Like, you've been reading these two dancing around each other for three years of story-time, and then BAM — she says she wants to stay, and his entire mask drops. The way the author structures this is *chef's kiss*. You have the Lazy Zhang scene at the start (external conflict, comic relief, establishes their dynamic), then the tender mountain journey (emotional peak, almost too beautiful), and then the confrontation at Emerald Pool where it all implodes. The pacing of that reveal is perfect — she asks when he's returning to the capital, he pretends not to hear, gives her one last chance to take it back, and she doesn't. That moment where his grip tightens and the whole forest goes silent? I literally gasped. And then his response — cold, cruel, reducing everything she felt to nothing. "You are but a commoner with no connection to me." Oof. The plot twist here isn't just that she wants to leave, it's that HE still doesn't understand what she actually needs. She literally spells it out: "Respect. And freedom." And his response is to laugh like she's joking. The story is building this incredible tension between what they both want and what they're capable of giving each other, and I am SO here for it.
